Jack Spurling

Rightly acclaimed as 'one of the greatest painters of the Sailing Ship', Spurling's work is notoriously difficult to locate. The brilliance and accuracy of his technique is awesome. It is worth remembering that, but for disabilitating fall from the rigging, he would have remained a zealous seaman and never become such a respected artist.
